The first Latin American SDEWES Conference was held from 28th to 31st January 2018 in the fabulous Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
It brought together 180 scientists, researchers and experts in the field of sustainable development from 35 countries and 5 continents. 178 presentations were held in 28 regular and 5 special sessions, with additional 3 invited lectures from Prof. Daniel Rolph Schneider, Prof. Humberto Brandi and Prof. Ingo Stadler.
