12th Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems conference

12th Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems international conference was held in Dubrovnik from 4th to 8th October. The conference gathered 530 scientists, researchers and experts in the field of sustainable development from 60 countries.

At the conference over 450 presentations were given, along with 100 posters and 12 special sessions. Important topics were discussed during the 4 plenary lectures by: prof. Şiir Kilkiş (Benchmarking the Sustainability of Urban Energy, Water and Environment Systems with the SDEWES City Index and Envisioning Scenarios for the Future), prof. Mario Giampietro (Implementing More Effective Tools to Analyze the Sustainability of Social-ecological Systems in Relation to the Water-energy-food Nexus), prof. Jean-Pascal van Ypersele (The Challenge of Climate Change: Also an Opportunity) and prof. François Maréchal (On Using Co2 And Renewable Energy For Autonomous Cities).
