13th edition of NUMAP-FOAM Summer School was held 20-31 August 2018 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FAMENA). The Summer School is dedicated to improving the knowledge and skills of working with OpenFOAM, an open source Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) toolbox. The employees of the Department are prominent developers of OpenFOAM, led by one of the original developers, prof. Hrvoje Jasak.
The Summer School gathered 20 attendees from 10 countries: doctoral students, renowned scientists and engineers from the industry. During the 10 working days, besides the one-on-one interaction with the attendees regarding their projects, 9 lectures have been held about various topics from the field of CFD and programming. Two Master students from FAMENA have also attended the Summer School and worked on their Master’s Theses.
On 31st August, in lecture hall D of the Southern building of FAMENA, a mini-conference was held: all the attendees presented the progress made during the Summer School as well as their scientific work in general.
The next, 14th edition of the Summer School, will be in August 2019.
